It was a lovely spring day and the course was in great condition for the first competition of the 2022 season played in acceptable scoring conditions at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 21 April, when ladies competed in the Peggy Nelson Qualifying Stableford.

On a dry but bitter cold day ladies competed in the Millennium Bowl and McCall Shield Stroke Competitions at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 14 April 2022. The Millennium Bowl had been donated by Mrs Cecelia Woods, Lady Captain in 2000 and was competed for by golfers with a playing handicap between 0 and 24. The McCall Shield, for those with a playing handicap between 25 and 54, had been presented by Mrs Flo McCall when she was Lady Captain in 2009.

Friday 8th April saw the return of our ever popular Masters Par 3 competition again kindly sponsored by Paul McKeown of Iron Design.
The blustery conditions somewhat akin to the challenge faced at Augusta led to a stern examination of short game skills. Allied to that course convenor Davy Baird had set up a testing course to produce two worthy winners.
In the men’s section Andy Conn kick started his round with a 2 and thereafter scored consistently to return a splendid score of 27 pipping past captain Declan McReynolds on the back 3.
In the ladies section winner Theresa Campbell opened with a 3 and added 2 further 3s as she scored steadily to post a fine score of 31.
The players then enjoyed a bite to eat and a refreshing beverage in the clubhouse where competition sponsor Paul McKeown presented the prizes.

The course was in great condition for the Eileen Steenson Memorial Bowl competition at Co Armagh on Thursday 31 March. Since Northern Ireland had basked in 90% more sunshine than average for the month of March and with little rainfall unsurprisingly there was a return to run on the ball, which was very much welcomed, however, the sudden drop in temperature made it feel more like winter than spring.
