72 County Armagh Ladies played for the prestigious Ellie Mayne cup in glorious sunshine last Thursday.
This competition was very generously sponsored by Johnstons Home Bakery Scotch St Armagh.
Jacqueline Kelly came out on top with a fantastic score of 43 stableford points, which resulted in a significant cut to her handicap.Second place was collected by our lady captain Paula Mc Crory closely followed by Lorraine Abbott. The category winners were as follows A: Aideen Cannavan B: Denise Murphy. C: Fionnuala Quinn D: Joan Lappin The front 9 was won by Anne Mc Donald while Marie Digby picked up the back 9. The gross winner was June Humphries while the par lady was Eileen Fitzsimons. Hilary Johnston presented the prizes to a packed clubhouse.

Seventy two Co. Armagh lady golfers played in glorious sunshine on Thursday 2nd August. The competition was very generously sponsored by FAB Beauty Consultants of Scotch Street, Armagh.
Lady Captain Paula McCrory presented the many prizes on behalf on the proprietor Eimear McKenna. The winner and runner up were sepatated on the countback each scoring a fabulous 43 points. Aideed Canavan was the winner with Carina Oliver picking up second prize. In third place was P. Gingles (37 pts), B. Rice was fourth with 37 points and F. Toner came fifth also with 35 points. J. Humphries won the gross prize. Front nine winner was A. McDonald amd K. Edgar picked up the back nine prize. Category winners were as follows: A: C. McCall (32pts), B: U. Cullinane(34 pts), C: P. Hughes(35 pts) and D: J. Kelly (34 pts). A. M. Canavan from Banbridge was the winning visitor. Nearest the pin was won by V. Gordon and E. Brady had the longest drive.

A large turnout of lady golfers competed for the beautiful array of prizes on a sunny but showery day at County Armagh Lady Captain's Day on Saturday 28th July. The day commenced with the Lady Captain Paula McCrory welcoming her family and many guests to a very busy and enjoyable morning coffee. The hard working Ladies' Committee left no stone unturned to ensure the success of this event. As the ladies ventured out to play the sun shone on a well manicured course. Later a few showers dampened the fairways but not the enthusiasm of the lady golfers. Frances Davidson emerged as the winner with a nett 67. Elizabeth Mawhinney followed closely behind (nett 69). The gross prize was picked up by Teresa McVeigh (81). Front 9 winner was Joy Steenson and Sheila Stinson won the back 9. Category prizewinners were as follows: A: B. Rice, B: U. Cullinane, C: A. Murphy and D: J. Lappin. R. Grimley won the committee prize while B. Loughran won the Past Lady Captain's prize. T. McManus won the putting competition. D. Maxwell was the recipient of the men's prize. F. Cullen won the Juvenile Girls' prize with G. Carmichael in second position. C. Calvert came first in the Juvenile Boys' category with S. Reilly runner up. The presentation of prizes took place after a beautiful meal in a packed clubhouse when Lady Captain again made family and friends very welcome. H. McLaughlin proposed the vote of thanks to the Lady Captain and S. McRory seconded it. The celebrations concluded with music and dancing which continued until the wee small hours.

60 Co. Armagh lady golfers competed in the Thursday 26th July stroke competition which was very generously sponsored by O'Kane's Flowers, Armagh. The weather was glorious with temperatures in the high teens. A delighted U. Cullinane won first prize with 71 nett. G. Poole followed closely behind (72 nett) beating A. Black on the back 9. Category prize winners were as follows: A: H. Johnston (77nett), B: A. Canavan (74nett), C: K. Mallon(75nett) and D: E. Grimes(74nett). The front 9 was won by L. Abbott and D. Carolan picked up the back 9 prize. B. Rice won the gross prize. The Par Lady was M. Pender.

65 Co. Armagh lady golfers competed in the July Medal Competition.
Conditions were unusually dry and the ladies took advantage of the favourable weather. The top lady was N. Spence (nett 67) closely followed by C. Cassidy and A. Black ( both 71). Category winners were as follows: A: B. Rice, B: U. Cullinane, C: F. Quinn and D: M. McCoy. The gross prize was won by Lady Captain P. McCrory while the par lady was A. Mone. Front 9 winner was D. Carolan and back 9 was G. Rafferty.

Despite predictions of torrential rain, the longest day of 2012 proved to be surprisingly kind to the 57 Co. Armagh Golf Club ladies who participated in the Club Stableford competition. The competition was very generously sponsored by Daily Bake, Hamiltonsbawn Rd., Armagh. Sponsor S. Stinson presented the first prize to a delighted A. McElroy with a super score of 41 points. In second place was M. Black (37 pts) closely followed by L. Abbott also with 37 points. Category prizewinners were as follows: Cat. A: P. McCrory (33 pts), Cat. B: M. Brady (36 pts), Cat. C: T. Corrigan (34 pts) and Cat. D: N. Spence (34 pts). K. Mallon won the front 9 with 21 points and back 9 winner was F. McCall with 18 points. The winner of the 36 handicap prize was M. Clarke and S. Hughes won the Par Lady category. The 9 hole winner was C. McKee.

69 County Armagh lady golfers competed in the Fox Cup and Culmore Shield events on Thursday 14th June.
The weather was uncharacteristically kind for most of the day but te ladies who went out later in the afternoon were less fortunate as,yet again, persistent rain made life difficult. The Fox Cup is for lady golfers whose handicaps range from 0 to 27 and the Culmore Shield is for those ladies who have handicaps from 28 to 36. The Fox Cup was won by S. Hughes (72), closely followed by M. Black in second place and C. McAleavey in third position. S. Ashe (72) picked up the Culmore Shield. M. Rhodie was a close second and E. Grimes was third. The gross prize was won by Lady Captain P. McCrory. Front nine winner was D. Carolan and M. Corrigan won the back nine. Par lady was A. Kellett. C. Murray won the nine hole category.

A good turn out of ladies battled the elements on a very wet Thursday competing for the Marie Curie Sponsored 4 Ball Better Ball. This Competition is very generously sponsored by Rice's Supermarket, Keady. A packed clubhouse saw Mrs. P. Rice present the gorgeous hampers to the winners and runners up. In a very tight scoring competition, E. Grimes and G. Steed won on the countback from C. McAleavey and P. Gingles. Third and fourth place went to V. Gordon and E. Brady and N. Spence and A. Kellett respectively.
