AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Fifty-five ladies competed in the Club Stroke at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 1 August which was generously sponsored by Seven Hills Restaurant. A further 18 ladies played in the 9-hole competition. Lady Captain, Mrs Moya Brady welcomed Lisa, Seven Hills Restaurant, to prizegiving and thanked her for their continued support.

The results were:

1 st – Colette McAleavey nett 68

2 nd – Lily McMullan nett 69

3 rd – Teresa Corrigan nett 70

Gross – Paula McCrory 82 (beating Ellen Brady on countback)

The category winners were:

Cat A – Aoife Lennon nett 71

Cat B – Michelle Kinane nett 73

Cat C – Lynne Brown nett 72

Cat D – Catherine McAnerney nett 71

Marie Corrigan won the front 9 with nett 31 and Katherine Steenson won the back 9 with nett 35.

The 9-hole competition was won by Tish Burke with 18 pts and Margaret Marjoram was second, also with 18 pts. Mary McElvanna was 3 rd with 17 pts, beating Gina Morris on the countback.

The weekly Time for Nine competition was won by Mary Knott with 19 pts.

There were birdies at the 1 st for Theresa McVeigh, 5 th for Bernie McBride, 10 th for Valerie Gordon, 12 th for Una Cullinane and 15 th for Gail Steed.

Twos were recorded at the 13 th by Lily McMullan, Una Cullinane and Siobhan Donnelly.

The handicap cuts were Teresa Corrigan 26-24.7 and Colette McAleavey 19-18.
