AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

The hot spell of weather continued for the annual Marie Curie Classic at Co Armagh Golf Club on Thursday 15 June.  The charity 4 ball better ball competition was once again very generously sponsored by Rice’s Supermarket, Keady.

Lady Captain Lily McMullan extended a special welcome to fellow golfer, Phil Rice, Rice’s Supermarket, Keady and thanked her and Conlon for their long and loyal sponsorship and the beautiful hampers.

Phil and Lady Captain Lily made the presentation to the fortunate prize-winners:

1st Tish Burke and Anne Mone                                       49 pts

2nd Lynne Brown and Ruth Black                                    47 pts

3rd Teresa McVeigh and Frances Davidson                    44 pts

4th Flo McCall and June Humphries                                44 pts

     (beating Paula McCrory and Moya Brady on back 9)

The prize-winners were all delighted with their fabulous hamper.

9 Hole Competition

Anne Cairns won the 9 hole competition with 23 pts and Vera Ellingham was second with 20 pts, beating Gemma Rice on the countback.

The Get Into Golf winner was Pat Prunty with 61.

Birdies and twos

There were birdies for Mary Black at the 8th and June Humphries at the 14th and twos were recorded by Anne Kinsella, Eileen Fitzsimons and Gemma Rice at the 7th, Helen Forster at the 9th and Aoife Lennon at the 13th.
