AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Despite being a beautiful day the course was closed on Thursday 19 March due to the rain earlier in the week, so in a break from the norm, it had been decided to run the weekly ladies competition at Co Armagh Golf Club on Friday 20 March, a decision which was welcomed.

Observing social distancing guidelines with additional local measures which included leaving the flagsticks in at all times and bunkers being out of play, twenty-seven ladies played in the 15 hole and 6 ladies played in the 9 hole stableford competitions.
With 29 pts each Michelle Kinane, Jacqueline Kelly and Flo McCall took 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Ellen Brady won Cat A, beating Lily McMullan on the countback with 28 pts. Una Cullinane won Cat B with 26 pts; Pauline Gingles Cat C with 27 pts and Grace Hart, winner of the St Patrick’s Day Ladies Open earlier in the week, won Cat D with 23 pts, beating Eilish Grimes on the countback.

Gail Steed won the front 9 with 13 pts and Lily McMullan the back 9 with 12 pts.

There were twos for Flo McCall at the 3rd and Michelle Kinane at the 7th and a birdie for Ellen Brady at the 2nd.

Phil Rice won the 9 hole competition with 18 pts and Lynne Brown wone the weekly Time for Nine competition with 15 pts.
