AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Fifty-two ladies played in the Club Stableford at Co Armagh on Thursday 12 September, which had been supported by Opium, Armagh.

The weather made playing conditions difficult with rain in the earlier part of the day clearing late afternoon to leave a pleasant dry evening, as a result the competition scratch score was 72.

Ellen Brady emerged victorious with 37 pts, closely followed by Paula McCrory with 36 pts. Colette McAleavey took 3rd place with 34 pts.

Cat D    Bernie McBride             33 pts

Anne O’Hea won the Front 9 with 20 pts and Erin Connolly won the Back 9 with 18 pts.

Rita Grimley won the 9 hole competition with 18pts and Flo McCall was second with 16 pts, beating Toni McManus and Catherine McAnerney on the countback.

Lily McMullan won the weekly Time For Nine competition with 23 pts for which her handicap was cut to 8.1.

There was only one birdie for Ellen Brady at the 12th and 2s for June Humphries and Lorraine Megaw at the 7th.

Whilst there were no handicap cuts, there were reductions for Paula McCrory to 8.5 and Ellen Brady to 7.5.

Lady Captain Moya reminded ladies that the next competition was the McAnerney’s Charity Open on Thursday 19 September and drew particular attention to the annual Coffee Morning in aid of Newry Hospice which would take place between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm that day.
