AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Long standing and fondly remembered members, Billy and Eedie Parker, whose home bordered the 17th hole, are honoured annually in the Parker Bowl competition, generously sponsored by their nephew, Arnold Courtney.

Sixty one ladies competed for the prizes on the day, ten of those in the 9 hole competition.

Conditions were optimal with warm sunshine and light winds and these were reflected in the excellent scoring.

The ever competitive Ellen Brady secured third spot with 39 points, one point less than Lily McMullan who made a welcome return to the prizes. Top spot was secured by Teresa Corrigan with 41 points.

Category A Una Cullinane 39 points

Category B Marie Corrigan 37 points beating Phil Rice and Cait McKinney on countback.

Category C Catherine McAnerney 37 points

Category D Maura McCreesh 37 points

Front 9 Sheila Stinson 23 points

Back 9 Phil Rice 20 points beating Joy Steenson and Helen Forster on countback.

9 hole Mary Knott 19 points.

A multitude of birdies were recorded by Catherine McAnerney, Una Cullinane, Hilary Johnston, Phil Rice, Flo McCall, Ellen Brady who had 2 and Helen Forster who had 3.

Handicap cuts were applied to Mary Knott, Una Cullinane, Ellen Brady, who all received one shot cuts, and Teresa Corrigan who saw a two shot reduction.
