AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Sponsored by Armagh Business Centre Ltd who were represented by Eileen Stewart took place on Sunday evening.

A scintillating back nine, which included an ace at the 13th, earned Tommy Mackin top honours.

The 19-handicapper had been steady if unspectacular to the turn before lighting the fireworks on the back nine.

Out in 41, he started back home with a couple of pars and a couple of bogeys before holing out at the 13th to leap into contention! Getting over the shock, he played his closing four holes in four over to come home in 39 shots and finish two clear of Conor McAneney in second.

Conor also found the scoring touch on the back nine after reaching the turn in 44. The 17-handicapper suddenly clicked into gear on the way home, recording 6 pars, 2 bogeys and a birdie at the par-five 13th (winter course in play). His back nine of one over par 34 secured him second with a couple of shots to spare.

Jordan Johnston’s six-birdie nett 65 saw him edge out Andrew Fox on countback for the category one crown.

In category two Darren Rogan and Benjamin Johnston both posted nett 65’s with Darren coming out on top on countback.

Marty Daly’s nett 67 gave him top spot in category three, two shots clear of Kieran Doyle.

The gross went to Adam Cromwell who carded a fine 67.
