Super scores were recorded in the Sinton Cup Qualifying Stroke competition played on Thursday 31st May on County Armagh Golf course. After a dull start to the day, the 62 ladies enjoyed a warm afternoon with a welcome breeze. Leading the field was Mary Black (nett 66), closely followed by Flo McCall and Bernie Rice, both with nett 67. June Humphries came next with nett 68. Mary now plays June and Flo plays Bernie in the match play offs. Category winners were as follows: A: C. McCall, B: G. Steed, C: M. Marjoram and D: L. Brown. Front nine was won by S. Ashe and C. McAnerney took the back nine prize. Par Lady was S. Hughes.

74 ladies competed in the Wright's Sponsored Greensomes Competition in glorious sunshine. With a fabulous score of 45 points, was a mother and daughter combination of Donna Carolan and Aideen McReynolds. In second place were B. O'Doherty and U. Cullinane. Third place went to B. McEneaney and C. Cassidy. This competition is annually sponsored by Studio Cafe @ Wright's Interiors, Russell Street, Armagh. The sponsor announced a special Strawberry Fayre on Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday (10am to 4pm).

57 Co. Armagh lady golfers competed in the Club Stroke qualifier for the Steenson Bowl. The ladies played in wintry conditions but some excellent scores were recorded. The top lady with a nett 71 was S. Donnelly with H. Johnston and F. McCall separated for second and third place on countback. S. Ashe was the winner of the 9 hole competition while the top Par Lady was T. McManus. Best front 9 on the day was A. McElroy while U. Cullinane claimed the back 9. Category winners were as follows: A: P. McCrory, B: M. Black, C: F. Quinn and D: J. Kelly.

29 brave lady golfers faced the elements in the MacMillan Charity Stableford Competition. It is very generously sponsored annually by V. Mone Hardware and Gift Shop, Keady. Mrs. A. Mone presented the beautiful prizes to the various winners in a packed clubhouse.
The scores did not reflect the difficult wintry conditions with G. Steed coming out on top with 37 points, closely followed by S. Donnelly and M. Black. J. Humphries lifted the gross prize while the categories were won by: A: V. Gordon, B: P. Gingles, C: E. Mawhinney and D: D. Carolan.
Font 9 winner was T. McManus and the back 9 winner was K. Edgar. B. Gribben was the best Par Lady while the 36 handicap prize was won by L. Brown.

The Ladies' Spring Open was played in wet, blustery and thundery conditions on Monday last in Armagh. The competition was very generously sponsored by Mark Hawthorne from Lila's Fashions, Scotch St. Armagh. Lady Captain Paula welcomed many visitors who travelled from neighbouring clubs.
The winner was Co. Armagh Lady Captain Paula McCrory beating B. Gribben and K. Scally (Malone) on countback.
Gross prize was lifted by B. Rice with R. Calvert and M. Knott coming in 4th and 5th.
Visitors' prize was won by N. McCone (Loughgall).
Front nine winner was A. Black and back nine was M. Conway.
Nearest the pin was E. Mawhinney and the longest drive winner was V. Gordon.
Category winners were as follows: Cat. A: G. Rafferty, Cat. B: G. Steed, Cat. C: M. Marjoram, Cat. D: N. Spence.
The clubhouse was packed to see Mark, accompanied by his beautiful daughter Jane, present the prizes to the various winners.

71 County Armagh ladies played in glorious sunshine for the Millennium Bowl and the McCall Shield.
The Millenium Bowl was presented by Mrs. C. Woods for ladies who have a handicap between 0 and 24. Winner of the bowl was B. Rice (69 nett) Runner up was G. Poole (71 nett) closely followed by J. Humphries (72 nett).
The McCall Shield was presented by Mrs. F. McCall for ladies with a handicap between 25 and 36. M. Black retained the shield with a nett 65, closely followed by S. Stinson (66 nett) and in third place was B. McEneaney (68 nett). Front 9 was won by A. McElroy and back 9 winner was L. Abbott. Par lady was A. Attwell and 36 handicap winner was M. Clarke.

73 County Armagh lady golfers braved the blustery conditions while competing for the prestigious Parker Bowl which was very generously sponsored by Arnold Courtney in memory of the late Billy and Edith Parker.
B. McEneaney was the winner with 38 points. Runner up was B. Rice with 36 points, closely followed by A. Attwell with 35 points.
The gross winner was Lady Captain P. McCrory while the front 9 prize was won by K. Mallon (20 pts). Back 9 winner was A. McDonald (18 pts). Category winners were as follows: Cat. A: V.
