Todays competition was played over 11 holes and despite the weather a very impressive number of ladies turned out. The winners returned exceptional scores of 24points each. Even after a countback it was impossible to separate First and second. Therefore it was decided to award a joint First place.

This years Putting Competion was an outstanding success with over 180 people taking part. The standard of putting was as usual extremely high and 16 Teams qualified for the Finals. Competition was fierce amongst the 16 qualifiers to reach the semi finals. The successful teams were to reach these dizzy hights were the teams Captained by K Murray, P Vallely, C Vernon and D Mc Laughlin. After a tense battle the finalists were decided and K Murray and D Mc Laughlins Teams shared 3rd place.
The Final between P Vallelly team and C Vernon team was played out in great spirit with both teams encouraging one another. Charlies team emerged as worthy winners after a close match. Our congratulations go to all those who took part it could not have been easy to have putted in front of such a large audience.
Many thanks to our Lady Captain Barbara ably assisted by Cormac O Hare for organising a such a successful event. Over the last three Friday nights there has been a great buzz about the Club. Our thanks to all the sponsors who helped to make this event.

Over 180 Golfers, friends participated in this years annual Putting Competition. After two Qualifying Nights it has been reduced to 16 Teams. A very interesting mix has made it through to the Finals and it is expected that the standard of putting shall be extremely high.

The first competition of the year was very well supported by 48 ladies who took part in the annual 3 club competition (two clubs of your choice and a putter). As usual great scores were returned prompting the auction of several sets of clubs on E bay that have 11 clubs.

All Team Captains are encouraging everyone to return a card this week. At this stage every extra point is vital.
It has been decided that no results shall be published for Week 5 or Week 6 of the Spring Team Competition.
At present The G Hacks Captained by Geraldine Rafferty are out in front but they can be caught by either the Enigmas or the Orchard Maidens. The next two weeks results are vital and it is all to play for. Discount the other Teams at your peril because very little separates them. One good team result and it all opens up.
In the Individual Competition things are getting very close and the final outcome will be dependant not only on the next two weeks scores but also on what score will be dropped. The favourites at present are Catherine Corrigan, Moya Brady, Dawn Boyd, Brigid Mc Eneaney and Eileen Steenson but you never know who could come out of the woodwork.
Great Scores are still being returned despite the inclement weather. The Team Competition is being lead by the G Hacks who have had their lead slightly dented. So with two weeks to go it is still all to play for. They could yet be reined in.
