Two trophies were played for on Thursday 16 th June. The Fox Cup for 0-27 handicaps was won by Colette McAleavey with an excellent score of nett 68. The winner of the Culmore Shield (28-36) with nett 69 was a delighted Sheila Stinson who, on behalf of her company Daily Bake, generous sponsors of the competition, presented all of the other winners with a beautiful selection of prizes. Sylvia Ashe had the best 9-hole result with 19 points. Sheila has sponsored this competition for a number of years and the Ladies Branch is very appreciative of her support.
The beautiful weather continued this week and there were some fabulous scores. Lily McMullan, Anne McDonald and Vera Ellingham topped their respective sections and will represent the club in the finals in Dunmurry later in the summer. The Lady Captain thanked the new sponsor for this competition, Campbell Fuels and expressed her appreciation of their generosity.
The weather and conditions were almost perfect this week for the ladies who turned out to play in the Marie Curie Classic, again very generously sponsored by Rice’s Supermarket, Keady.
The competition took the form of a 2 person team event and the sponsor Phil was in the clubhouse on Thursday evening to present a beautiful selection of hampers to the lucky winners.
In first place were Alexandra and Elizabeth Mawhinney with 43 pts narrowly beating Frances Davidson and Teresa McVeigh on the better back 9.
The Daisy Ferguson Greensomes took place this week and was again very generously sponsored by Wrights Interiors, Russell Street Armagh.
A thrilled Lady Captain Una Cullinane and her partner Anne Black were the winners with 36 points while Sheila Hughes and Kathleen Mallon came second with 35 points and Pauline Vallely and Catherine Mone third also with 35 points.

Forty-two ladies of County Armagh Golf Club braved the elements on Thursday 19 th May to play in this year's Sinton Cup Qualifier. Once again this competition was sponsored by McKinney Timber who provided a beautiful selection of gardening-related prizes. The lady Captain expressed her gratitude to the McKinney Family for their continued generosity.

Thursday's competition was the Eileen Steenson Memorial Greensomes played in memory of a much-loved former Lady Captain. Eileen would have appreciated the wonderful spirit in which this competition was played and as Past Lady Captain Margaret said in her winner's speech the draw for partners had brought together many new pairings and given the ladies the opportunity to forge new friendships.
83 ladies, including a number of visitors, played in this year's Spring Open. Rene Calvert was well clear of the field with a magnificent score of 42 points. Lila's Fashions of Scotch Street, Armagh once again sponsored this competition and we are very grateful to Mark Hawthorne who presented the prizes for his very generous support.
The Macmillan Charity Stableford Competition very generously sponsored by V Mone and Son of Keady was played this week in lovely weather. The winner was Nicola Spence with 37 points closely followed by Eilish Grimes with 36 points who beat Valerie Gordon on countback.
