AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

GERVASE Hughes claimed the final place in the County Armagh Club Championship after winning the September Medal.

A birdie 2 at the 3 rd hole set Gervase on his way to a two over par front nine. And with further birdies at the 10 th and 12 th holes on his way to a three-over par back nine holes, the 9-handicapper was a deserving winner with his nett 65 finish.

Patsy Hegarty (9) also confirmed his place in the club championship with his second place finish, recording a nett 66 on the day.

Martin Gill (6) returned the best score in Category 1 – a nett 67 – birdies at the 12 th and 15 th holes in a level par back nine helping him on his way to victory. Ian Millar (12) was runner up in the same category with a nett 67 – a birdie 2 at the 13 th hole somewhat easing the pain of losing out on countback to Martin.

In Category 2 it also took a countback to similarly separate Neil Dowzell (18) and the club's Honorary Secretary Paddy Burns after both returned nett 67 scores.

Roger Seeley (27) returned a nett 67 to win Category 3 with Dwayne Houston runner up on net 69.

Shea Smyth's gross 72 was the best on the day.
