HE may have been bottom of the prize list in the Open Stroke competition five days earlier, but Philip Kelly topped it in the final competition of Open Week at County Armagh.

His 40 points clinched first prize in the Ladies and Gents Open Stableford competition sponsored by Abbey Bond Lovis Insurance Partnership.

Playing of a handicap of 2, Philip recorded 20 points on both the outward and inward treks, his round also including birdies at the 6 th  and 15 th  holes.

Art McCrory narrowly missed out on the top prize when he too recorded 40 points. But a ‘no score' at the par three 13 th  was to prove very costly indeed.

Paddy Darragh was next best with 39 points and he too will rue a ‘ding' at the 11 th  while Tom Fox included a ‘ding' at the second hole and birdies at the 12 th  and 15 th  holes to take fifth prize.

And to round of quite a prize-winning week, Ronan O'Reilly's 38 points earned him sixth.
