Narrow victory over Kikeel Golf Club
 
A heavy drizzle at Kilkeel threatened to make a difficult task all the more challenging for our Ulster Four-ball team captained by John Flack on Sunday and with some of the greens starting to flood a postponement was an unwelcome possibility. But, midway through the front nine the weather faired and our front runners, Paul Corvan and Kieran Mullan started to build an impressive lead, finally winning 6 and 5. Further back our third and fourth pairs were encountering stiff local resistance which shifted the balance back in Kilkeel's favour. However, our final pair of Michael Cullen and Dudley Marjoram countered this with a magnificent 7 and 5 win.
 
Tied games meant that the outcome of the match was going to come down to holes difference and the onus of the task rested in the hands of our second pairing. Who better to handle this responsibility than our little and large combination of Paul Kelly and John Mawhinney. Under severe pressure they held their nerve over the difficult final holes to give Armagh a narrow, but much deserved, victory by 2 holes.
