AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

DELIVERY man Sean T Dougan was bang on time to collect the Tuesday Cup at County Armagh Golf Club with an impressive winning score.

In the summer-long competition in which the best nett scores at each hole are recorded, the young golfer secured the coveted prize - kindly sponsored by Rutledge Recruitment – with a score of nett 42.

Indeed Sean's score was two points better than all the rest – Seamus Toner his nearest challenger with a nett 44.

The popular mid-week competition was once again enthusiastically received by club members with some impressive scores recorded week-on-week reflecting this. Quite a number of golfers featured throughout the summer in the top ten and only conceded defeat to Sean T Dougan in the final weeks of the competition.

Indeed after second placed Seamus Toner on nett 44 and Paddy Darragh on a nett 45, there were no less than five golfers who finished on nett 47. Eventually however, after a meticulous countback and taking into account handicap reductions, the final five placings were declared as follows:  4 th John Flack; 5 th E McCaffrey; 6 th Kevin Boyd; 7 th Anthony Fagan; 8 th J Rolston.
