PEARSE McBride was the popular winner of County Armagh Golf Club's Mayne Cup.

To loud applause from a packed clubhouse, he was presented the trophy by Club Captain Richard Black.

In the stableford competition played annually by club members over 65 years of age, Pearse returned a winning score of 38 points – steady scoring throughout his round with 20 and 18 points recorded over front and back nine holes respectively.

Tim Teehan was just a point behind on 37 – a ‘no score' at the 4 th hole contributing to a disappointing front nine which yielded only 16 points, but recovering superbly to record 21 points on the homeward trek.
