AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

NOEL Murtagh was a surprised but delighted winner of the County Armagh Golf Club's Half Century Cup.

His 39 points was enough to secure the coveted piece of silverware played for annually by the club's Over 50 year-olds.

Noel Murtagh is presented with the Half Century Cup by County Armagh Golf Club Captain Richard Black. Included also is competition runner up Johnnie Brown

With 21 points recorded over the front nine holes, Noel continued that steady scoring until the 15 th where a ‘no-score' was recorded! However, he shook himself down to register a further 18 points from the back nine holes and deservedly claim the prize.

Johnnie Brown was a point behind on 38 and will no doubt look back disappointingly on a ‘no score' at the 9 th hole which he may well claim cost him the top prize.

And with a triple bogey seven at the second, Paul Morgan will also be kicking himself after recovering magnificently to record 38 points also. A third prize however, will ease the pain somewhat.
