AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

HONORARY Club Treasurer Patrick Brannigan banked his first trophy of the season at County Armagh, winning the Webster Cup.

And with a hole-in-one at the 3 rd hole to boot, it was to be quite a memorable day for him.

It's not the first time either Patrick has won the coveted trophy which is played for annually in a scratch competition for 12-19 handicappers. His gross 76 was three strokes better than all the rest.

However, he didn't get off to such a good start – a double bogey recorded at the first hole. But he recovered magnificently to pencil in a birdie at the 2 nd hole and then that ‘ace' at the 3 rd .

By the turn Patrick, an 11-handicapper, was two over par. He added a further birdie at the 11 th and despite a bogey, double bogey, bogey finish, completed his back nine in 40 strokes to register his 76 gross score.

Master Lee Campbell was runner up with a Gross 79. While big brother Shea has been successful on the soccer field it seems young Lee is enjoying success on the golf course. The teenager, playing of a handicap of 12, was just three over par after nine holes and completed his back nine in 42 shots for a Gross 79.

Andrew Clarke produced the Best Nett Score – 65.
