The Eileen Steenson Memorial competition was held recently to remember a much loved and respected member of the Ladies Branch at County Armagh Golf Club.  Eileen sadly passed away in November 2014.      She made a huge contribution to the Club over the years particularly in her support of the Juvenile section.    She held the position as Secretary to the Ladies Committee for several years and had the distinction of holding the office of Lady Captain twice,  the second time being in the centenary year of the Club.  Many years ago Eileen won the Irish Independent's competition for Golfer of the Month.  She donated the crystal bowl which she was presented with,  to the Ladies Branch,  to be played for on an annual basis.  The competition was known as the Steenson Bowl but  changed to the' Eileen Steenson Memorial' this year.  Joy Steenson and Ellen Brady had a magnificent 45 points to win.  Sixty ladies,  many of whom played with Eileen over the years,  played in the competition.  She will be remembered with great fondness by all.
