AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

JONATHAN Hewitt may initially have wondered why his name was missing from the system when he went to register his score in the County Armagh Club Stroke competition, sponsored by A&N Shilliday.

But there was no confusion in the result – his nett 67 was the outstanding score on the day and deservedly earned him the top prize.

On his card he had pencilled in a birdie at the 2 nd hole on an outward trek which saw him two over after nine, and a further birdie at the 12 th hole on his way to a one-under par back nine.

Former Club Captain John Flack was the runner up on nett 68.

Rona Reilly was the best of the low handicap Category 1 with a nett 69, winning on countback from Neil Linton who also returned a nett 69.

In Category 2, Colm Shannon picked up first prize with a nett 69, one shot better than Colin Gamble on net 70.

And another former Club Captain, Michael Grant, was the Category 3 winner with a nett 70, Jason Rolston a further three shots adrift on nett 73.
