ROY TURNER retained his crown as the County Armagh Golf Club Senior's Champion.

The genial Roy topped the leaderboard on the final day of the play-offs to win by four points and reclaim the Pat Russell Memorial Trophy which he won last year.

One of 30 golfers to qualify for the two-day play-offs in the annual summer Seniors League Competition, Roy led the way after the first day, returning 42 points. His second day performance may have been less impressive, but his 36 points for a total 78 was still the best accumulated score by four points.

Terry Chin was four points adrift Roy after his first play-off, returning 38 points, but he just wasn't able to close the gap on Day 2, and with 36 points and a total 74, had to settle for runner's up.

It was a similar story for third place Dudley Marjoram, 36 points recorded on Day 1 and 37 on Day 2 for a total 73.
