AN HISTORIC CLUB WITH A MAGNIFICENT GEORGIAN PARKLAND SETTING SINCE 1893

Fifty-one ladies, including a number of visitors, participated in the Pretty n Pink Ladies and Gents Open Stableford at County Armagh on Thursday 5 October which was generously joint sponsored by Anthony Conlon and Sharon Galloway, The Little House on the Priory, Benburb.

As October is breast cancer awareness month participants were requested to wear pink to support the annual campaign.  Unfortunately, it was wet for most if not all and the winter maintenance task of sanding the course had recently been carried out making playing conditions difficult and this was reflected in the scores.

On sale throughout the day in the clubhouse was a vast selection of sweet treats baked by some of Co Armagh’s talented lady members and these were being sold with all proceeds going to the charity.

Lady Captain Lily thanked everyone who had played, baked, purchased bakes, made donations and donned pink and presented the prizes on behalf of the sponsors:

The 9 hole competition was won by Anne Attwell with 13 pts and Carmel Harney was second with 12 pts.

There were twos for Julie McCarten at the 3rd, Anne Cairns at the 7th and Paula McCrory at the 18th.

There were a number of other prizes for those who had entered into the spirit of the day and were displaying flashes of pink in interesting ways.

A fantastic £1,290 was raised for the charity.
